Our Story - by Scott

Some things are just meant to be, and I'd like to think that is true in the case of The Icebox! I met Jordy Gamson in the mid 90’s, We were both busy being entrepreneurs and building small businesses. We spent many lunches sharing stories about our respective businesses, and were pleasantly surprised by the similarities in our business philosophies… especially since we were in different industries.

We lamented a gap in the advertising specialty field: the industry lacked a truly creative approach that could offer smart and “cool” solutions to corporate America. We also agreed that building strong relationships with customers and taking a more "agency-like" approach would help to maximize the value we could provide to clients. The more we could learn about our customers' brands, the more we could help to amplify them.”
Then one day we did it, we decided to join forces and go into business together. We agreed to build a firm foundation for a strong, solid business that would possess the innovative and creative capabilities to take “corporate cool” to a whole new level. While doing so, we would foster an internal culture that would not only engender the needed levels of creativity and innovation, but also make the business a great place to work.

We cut the deal on a beverage napkin at one of our favorite lunch spots, and by June 2001, Alterman and Gamson had incorporated. Over time, The Icebox evolved into the company we imagined. A cool place with great people inspired by creativity and phenomenal customer service.

When we first sat down over lunches in the late 90’s, we didn’t yet know we were igniting something so special. The culture we created and the people that work at The Icebox have enveloped the fabric of the company to the core. Through a strong community presence sponsoring and participating in numerous community events, The Icebox conveys the spirit of service and creativity that is at the epicenter of it’s corporate culture.
